Bromsgrove-based marketing communications agency, Gough Bailey Wright has won a CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) award for an innovative report it produced for bdht (Bromsgrove District Housing Trust), a registered provider of social housing.
GBW received the Gold award in the Best External Publication category at the CIPR PRide Awards 2013 for the Annual Report it produced for bdht’s tenants.
What made this report stand out was the fact that it was compiled in conjunction with a panel of tenants, which meant it truly reflected their views. GBW also took advice from the panel about how the information should be presented, which ensured it was engaging and informative.
Working together, the report was researched and written by GBW’s PR department, with the agency’s in-house creative team designing the layout.
Commenting about the entry, the award judges said: “This is an engaging and positive publication that really targets the core audience, who are traditionally very hard to reach. The project used a very clear strategy to deliver on its aims and ensure that all stakeholders had their say. The publication used clear, concise language and a good mix of pictures. It told a positive story to tenants and involved them at all stages.”
Sue Bailey, GBW’s managing director, said: “I’m very proud of everyone involved with this project. As a creative agency, we pride ourselves on developing innovative ideas and strategies for clients.
“The creativity behind this Annual Report ensured a high level of engagement between bdht and its tenants, who really felt that their opinions were valued. As a result, this report was well received and helped strengthen the relationship between bdht and the tenants.”
The CIPR is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK. CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, commented: “The Midlands CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals from across the region. The exceptional quality of entries received this year is a real testament to the thriving industry which exists here in the Midlands.
“The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK regions and nations and to win an award is a great achievement.”
The CIPR PRide Awards 2013 was held on Friday 8th November in Birmingham. Gough Bailey Wright was shortlisted in four other categories – Best External Publication, Outstanding Public Relations, Best Event and Healthcare Campaign.
