Record-breaking fans at Bromsgrove full-service marketing agency, Gough Bailey Wright, who for years watched eagerly as Roy Castle and Cheryl Baker cheered on brave souls attempting bizarre and breathtaking feats, are celebrating after breaking a Guinness World Record of their own.
On behalf of their client, Drayton Manor Theme Park, staff in the agency’s PR department came up with the idea of getting their main target audience of families and children to embrace the nation’s latest fashion craze to create the largest gathering of people wearing one piece pyjamas, or onesies.
The PR team organised and ran the entire record attempt, wearing their branded onesies alongside 700 other comfy pyjama fans, and Guinness World Records has now confirmed that Drayton Manor Theme Park and Gough Bailey Wright are “˜officially amazing’ record holders after they smashed the previous record which stood at 622.
Sue Bailey, managing director at Gough Bailey Wright, said: “We’re all delighted to have entered the record books. It’s quite a quirky record, but a perfect one to attempt with our client, Drayton Manor Theme Park, as so many people now have onesies at home. And who wouldn’t want to spend the day in their comfy PJs?
“There was a great atmosphere at the park on the day and our team worked really hard to make sure that Guinness World Records’ exacting criteria were met for the attempt to be successful. We love being told we’re “˜officially amazing’ and have the certificate to prove it!”
