Bromsgrove based marketing agency, Gough Bailey Wright (GBW), had a wonderfully wacky working day on Friday 13th March to help raise money for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day.
All inhibitions were brushed aside as the agency’s PR, community affairs, digital and creative teams pulled out all the stops to make their faces funny for money. The company was awash with comical masks, funky wigs and ridiculous moustaches as everyone seized the opportunity to look silly at work in return for a £2 donation to the campaign.
GBW also held a novelty Red Nose Day “˜tuck shop’ for the day and sold a mouth-watering selection of Bobby’s Foods products and homemade cakes. Bobby’s Foods, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of snacks, confectionary and sweets and client of GBW, kindly contributed an assortment of its best products to help with the agency’s fundraising activities.
Additionally, the company’s charity committee organised a sweepstake for the Cheltenham Gold Cup race. The winner and runner up donated half their winnings to charity.
Sue Bailey, Managing Director, commented: “Comic Relief is one of the major charities and Red Nose Day is such a big campaign in Britain, we really wanted to get fundraising and contribute to the great work it does to help combat poverty and social injustice across the world.
“There was lots of laughter as everyone turned up to work in fancy dress and the tuck shop and sweepstake worked really well throughout the day. Thanks again to Bobby’s Foods for its generous donation.
“GBW is a creative agency so there was absolutely no problem getting everyone to unleash their imaginative side – I’m just thankful there were no client meetings that day!”
The agency donated a total of £150.
Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day to help people living tough lives across the UK and Africa.
