Bromsgrove-based marketing and communications agency, Gough Bailey Wright, is celebrating its eighth successful year under the hands-on management of joint owners Sue Bailey and Michelle Wright.
After completing a management buy-out in July 2005, Sue and Michelle have propelled the company to award-winning success and have almost doubled its team in the last three years, now employing 27 people at offices in Worcester Road, Bromsgrove.
One of only eight IPAs (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) in the West Midlands, the company was first established in 1936 as Tom C. Gough and Partners and is the longest running marketing agency in the region. The company provides the full suite of marketing disciplines, including both traditional and online communications across its public relations, community affairs, digital and creative departments.
Sue said: “The last eight years have been the best the business has seen, with the addition of new, big name clients, a host of award wins and the creation of new digital and social media departments, keeping us and our clients at the forefront of our industries.
“It has been hard work but we are extremely proud to have grown the company to its current size and to have achieved such incredible successes. Some of our clients have worked with us for more than 15 years and are a part of the Gough family. Their loyalty is touching and is testament to the quality of work we do for them and the trust they have in our abilities.”
Michelle continues: “We see ourselves as an extension of our clients’ in-house teams and they know they can come to us for honest, practical and creative advice at any time. Our client list and the high calibre of our team illustrates how well-regarded we are in our industry and that we are a major player in the region.
“We are proud of the work we do and of the opportunities we are able to provide to our team. We attract and retain some of the best people in our disciplines and are also committed to nurturing new talent, having brought on both an apprentice and an intern who are gaining valuable work experience and business qualifications.”
Recent accolades include two CIPR Gold PRide Awards for Gough Bailey Wright’s community affairs work for major client, Sainsbury’s, a social media award for local client, Purity Brewing Company, and the Marketing and Communications gong at The Birmingham Post Business Awards.
